Products placements in promotional strategies stems from placing their product brands or usages in a movie, play, show or any form of 'act' that were originally targeted to entertain and not on 'marketing purposes'. They can be performed by examples like showing off a brand deliberately by capturing the logo for afew seconds, showing off product usages and benefits, augment the products with the perception the 'act' has to positively associate those favorable characteristics to the brand, a particular brand of car used for a game like 'Fast & Furious' or 'Grand Theft Auto' and a host of many different forms of product placement. Using the word 'deliberate' is fair as most product placement cost money.. so yup...this is another avenue for promotional mix and the next time when you catch a 'innocent movies' or play computer games..... Please be noted that might actually be subconsciously forming brand perception in your mind. That's an Art of Marketing!
Product Placement in movies are the most commonly used platform, although Games and Virtual World (click to read about it in this blog) also adopts brand placement. The movie below 'The Greatest Movie Ever Sold' will exemplify how product placements work....And this is no ordinary movie. This movie will be a blatant approach of using product placements in ALL AREAS of production...Seems interesting...Enjoy the Trailer!
